Dedicated to the memory of Colin Richards

To us, Colin was a husband, dad, grandfather and opa.  To so many more he was a valued friend or just one of those acquaintances that you loved to stop and chat to - always with something interesting to say, making you laugh with his trademark mischievous grin.

He was a modest man, but had such a remarkable range of practical skills.  He was so generous with his time and expertise - he would help a stranger he'd just met as readily as he'd help a lifelong friend.

We are grateful that Colin had a life full of interests and enjoyment.  He got so much from volunteering, including at RNLI Calshot and more recently Beaulieu Motor Museum.

Colin had so many enthusiasms but had a particular love of history, cars, boats and the sea.  He felt especially comfortable spending time in the New Forest or chatting in the café at Buckler’s Hard.

Germany was his second home and after spending several months there each year Colin had so many friends from Büsbach, Stolberg and Nuremberg.  We are so grateful for the love and friendship shown by them and from those throughout the UK.

Above all, family meant everything to Colin and he leaves a huge hole in the lives of Christine, Alex, Georgina and Lawrence & Clare, along with his adored grandchildren, William, Edward and Amsey.

Please feel free to share your memories, photographs and stories of Colin on this page.
